Custom Hero Forge

Project type

Custom Dungeons and Dragons Miniatures

Date

2022

Location

All Over Australia

This 2022 Hero Forge commission taught me a lot about painting, pricing and realistic expectations. The brief from an NDIS company was to print, paint and package 33 unique miniatures for 33 individual clients in four weeks, each matching its customer's Hero Forge design.

This wasn't batch painting. Every character had its own scheme, and I didn't use a single Contrast Paint. Looking back, I'm proud of what I pulled off.

At the time I charged $70 per mini, just below the $75 Hero Forge physical miniatures I was comparing them with. Was that practical pricing for me on my own? No. Would I take on the same brief again? Probably not. But the experience helped get me where I am today.
